ORGANISATION & BACKGROUND The Training Management Group (TMG) sits within the Personnel and Training Directorate and is led by Deputy Director People – Training (DDPT), who is the Training Delivery Authority for Navy Command Individual Training. TMG collaboratively manages the delivery of the training outputs alongside a contracted organisation, Team Fisher, under Project Selborne. The main outputs are to: Set & communicate the strategy and direction for the RN training system. Direct and assure the training delivered through the subordinate Training Providers (TF, CTCRM, ND). Command and Control over the 5 major RN Training Establishments. Exercise governance & control over the training system to ensure that the RN’s requirements are met, and that resources are prioritised and deployed effectively Modernise RN Training Job Purpose Purpose : As part of a broader training modernisation programme, project manage the optimisation of training delivery across the existing training estate in order to deliver training outcome benefits and improve estate utilisation. Responsible to TMG Hd Trg Delivery and to DDPT for the coordination and management of Training Optimisation projects, the post holder will firstly manage the Initial Naval Training (Foundation) (INT(F)) Project to provide a single INT(F) course for RN Officers and Ratings at HMS RALEIGH and the follow-on Officer Commissioning course at BRNC Dartmouth. Responsibilities: Develop a sustainable pilot to deliver INT(F) training at RAL utilising the current INT(R) framework but increasing capacity and capability to meet the SOTT 26/27 volume required for Officer and ratings. Pilot to be delivered in Q1 FY26/27. Develop a pilot to deliver a sustainable Officer’s Commissioning Course (OCC) at BRNC Dartmouth that utilises the modernised INT(O) course and is a seamless follow on to the INT(R) course (reformed to INT(F) so that the combined INT(F) and OCC meet the requirements of Initial Officer training as prescribed in the All Officers First Sea Assignment FTS). Pilot to be delivered to align with INT(F) delivery. Develop proposal for colocation of leadership training at BRNC, looking to repurpose existing RNLA leadership training within the OCC. Use agile approach and conduct sprints to achieve primary purpose, using JIRA to track activity. Identify Project delivery risks and mitigations Identify costs and present to DDPT for investment decisions Liaise with TMG HQ, COTEs and Team Fisher iot meet primary purpose. Coordinate across DLoDs as required to meet primary purpose, specifically Infra including Navy Infra and DIO. Identify Training benefits and organisational efficiencies from proposals to inform ABC planning and Infrastructure plans Develop proposal for colocation of Maritime Survival training at RAL AUTHORITY The TMG SO1 Training Optimisation: · Liaise with TMG, Navy Infra, DIO, Dir P&T, and other parts of the MOD up to OF5 level to enable achievement of their ‘Job Purpose’. LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT The post holder will be required to undertake all MOD Mandatory Training related to the post and site, and to support the training of direct reports. The post holder will be required to maintain the currency of their knowledge and skills relating to training/ education policies, standards, theories and methodologies through ongoing CPD.
