Job Overview

We are excited to offer a new opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Pharmacist (1.0 WTE) to join our expanding Pharmacy Clinical Trials team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This fixed-term post (funded until end March 2026) plays a vital role in supporting the Trust’s Research & Innovation (R&I) objectives—enabling more clinical trials to open and giving patients access to cutting-edge treatments. The post is based at Frimley Park but you may be required to assist the Clinical Trials Pharmacist at Wexham Park.

You will work closely with the Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist at Frimley Park Hospital, contributing to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services for clinical trials. This is a unique chance to make a real impact on patient care and research outcomes.

About You

We’re looking for a pharmacist who is:

* Passionate about research and improving patient outcomes
* Detail-oriented and highly organised
* A strong communicator and team player
* Eager to develop expertise in clinical trials and regulatory compliance


Main duties of the job

* Lead and support the set-up and delivery of clinical trials, ensuring timely pharmacy greenlight and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Provide pharmaceutical input across all trial stages—from feasibility and protocol review to dispensing, accountability, and monitoring.
* Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, GMP, UK regulations and Guidance, and Trust policies.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including R&I, investigators, research nurses, and pharmacy colleagues.
* Support audits, inspections, and training activities within the pharmacy department.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* GPhC registered Pharmacist
* Postgraduate clinical diploma/MSc equivalent or relevant experience
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Desirable criteria

* Current membership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
* Independent prescriber qualification


Experience

Essential criteria

* Post qualification experience working as a pharmacist in a clinical environment
* Experience of clinical trials

Desirable criteria

* Experience within both clinical and operational areas of pharmacy practice
* Clinical audit experience


Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills
* Ability to adapt and cope with challenges
* Good problem-solving skills
* Computer literacy

Desirable criteria

* Excellent Information Technology skills
* Current ICH-GCP Certificate
* Excellent organisational skills
* Working knowledge of general haematology and oncology chemotherapy protocols
* Working knowledge of e-prescribing software ARIA and Chemo-care
* Experience of the EDGE project management system
