Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Out-Of-Hours: Excellent shared rota, with protected time off to maintain work-life balance

Role Overview

Southview Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, passionate Veterinary Surgeon with a strong bias towards Small Animal general practice to join our dedicated team. This permanent position offers you the opportunity to focus primarily on small animal patients while occasionally participating in a shared large animal on-call rota, supporting a varied and engaging caseload.

About Us

Established in 2003, Southview Veterinary Hospital has grown into a trusted practice providing exceptional care to both small and large animals. Our team comprises six dedicated veterinarians, four nurses, and seven support staff who are committed to continual learning and advancement in veterinary medicine.

We offer specialist services including Cardiology, Canine Physiotherapy, and Reproduction, complemented by an on-site hydrotherapy suite led by our in-house Physiotherapist. We proudly collaborate with local charities such as Paws and TNR initiatives to support community animal welfare.

Situated in scenic Tipperary, our location offers easy access to Cork, Limerick, and Waterford, with the beautiful Blueway cycle track and River Suir just minutes away - perfect for maintaining your work-life balance.

Candidate Requirements

1. Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the Veterinary Council of Ireland
2. Demonstratable experience in mixed practice, with strong competence and confidence in small animal general practice essential
3. This role requires an experienced clinician able to work independently in routine mixed practice; it is not suitable for those seeking extensive support in general practice duties
4. Excellent communication skills and a personable, approachable manner
5. Valid driver's license and willingness to drive as needed
