As our Commis Chef, you will assist with food preparation work and basic cooking under the guidance of our Chef de Parties. You will rotate through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish, and butchery, learning from our experienced senior chefs.
Our menu features a combination of modern British and European cuisine, with plenty of feel-good comfort foods and healthy options. You will have the chance to showcase your new culinary skills and knowledge, creating memorable guest experiences.

The Ideal Candidate
12. Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel setting would be desirable.
13. A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
14. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
15. Good communication and teamwork skills
16. Relevant culinary qualifications are preferred but not essential as you will be part of our chef academy
Hotel
Our hotel, the Holiday Inn Edinburgh, is ideally located midway between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre, making it a perfect base to explore all the attractions and sights that Edinburgh has to offer. Our Academy Conference Centre offers 14 meeting rooms, located on the 5th floor of the hotel with panoramic views of the Pentland Hills, accommodating up to 120 guests.
