Job Title: Field Engineer (MSP)
Location: Central London & Surrounding Areas (On-site)
Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Field Engineer to support clients across London and the surrounding areas. Working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, you will be the face of the business on-site, delivering high-quality IT support and ensuring client systems run smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in different environments, solving problems in person, and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide on-site technical support to a range of clients across London
* Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, and network equipment
* Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
* Support Microsoft 365 environments (user setup, troubleshooting, migrations)
* Assist with IT projects, including office setups, hardware rollouts, and upgrades
* Perform routine maintenance, patching, and system checks
* Liaise with the Service Desk and escalate issues where required
* Maintain clear documentation and update tickets in line with SLAs
* Deliver excellent customer service and act as a trusted on-site contact
1. Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a Field Engineer, IT Support Engineer, or similar role (ideally within an MSP)
* Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments
* Experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
* Hands-on experience with hardware installations and troubleshooting
* Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Desirable
* Experience with Azure and Intune
* Knowledge of firewalls, switches, and basic network configuration
* Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.)
* Full UK driving licence
