Our engineering consultancy client, based in Warwickshire, is looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the delivery of research and large-scale commercial engineering programmes while managing and developing a high-performing team of engineers.
Key responsibilities
* Project Leadership: Deliver complex engineering programmes, applying technical expertise to develop innovative, customer-focused solutions
* Team Leadership & Development: Mentor engineers, manage performance, and support ongoing professional growth
* Resource Management: Allocate and optimise people and tools across projects to maximise utilisation and delivery efficiency
* Business Support: Collaborate with stakeholders to support business development, including prioritising opportunities and contributing to proposals
* Strategic & Financial Planning: Support function strategy and manage budgets (labour, overheads, CAPEX), including forecasting and cost control
* Recruitment & Line Management: Lead hiring, manage staff welfare, and maintain a positive, high-performing team environment
* Project Oversight: Act as Project Lead/Director where required, ensuring delivery excellence, strong margins, and customer satisfaction
* Knowledge Sharing: Foster collaboration and continuous learning across the team
What you will need
* Degree (or higher) in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Strong electrified powertrain technical expertise
* Engineering line management experience
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
* Commercial awareness and financial understanding
* Proactive, adaptable, motivated, and innovative approach to problem solving
* Genuine interest in engineering, industry developments, and customer needs
* High professional standards, integrity, and honesty
