Responsibilities:
1. Advise and assist the Operations Director in the planning, organising, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees.
2. To act as the subject matter expert on all H&S matters
3. Leadership and management of the H&S function
4. To assist the company in establishing objectives and targets to aid continuous improvement
5. Lead on programmes of work and new initiatives across health and safety.
6. Development and full compliance throughout the facility of Health, Safety and Environmental policies and processes
7. To take a leading role in maintaining the highest possible standards of Health and Safety
8. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and promote a safe working environment
9. Responsible for ensuring that all relevant Manuals, Procedures, Instructions, and Risk Assessments are relevant
10. Develop and deliver H&S training programmes
11. Ensure all Safe Systems of Work are in place and reviewed
12. Management and investigation of all accidents on site, compiling accident statistics and carrying out thorough corrective and preventative plans.
13. Control any/all COSHH files/reports on site
14. Oversee control of the Risk register
15. Position the Company to implement ISO 14001 accreditation
16. Carry out internal audits
17. Travel around all UK sites as required
