Passive Fire Surveyor / Supervisor
Location: Brandon, Suffolk (Covering East Anglia)
Salary: £45,780 per annum + Company Vehicle & Fuel Card
Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing contractor delivering passive fire protection works across a wide range of sectors. The business operates nationally, supporting social housing, MOD, healthcare, education, and commercial projects, with a strong pipeline of secured work.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Passive Fire Surveyor / Supervisor to support surveys, compliance, and site oversight across the East Anglia region.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Passive Fire professional with a background in both surveying and supervision. This role will involve carrying out fire door and compartmentation surveys, while also providing guidance and oversight to site teams to ensure works are delivered in line with compliance standards.
You will be working across a mix of environments including social housing, MOD, healthcare, and education, requiring both technical knowledge and a professional, client-facing approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out surveys of fire doors, fire stopping, and compartmentation lines
* Supervise and provide technical guidance to fire door and fire stopping teams
* Identify defects and ensure works meet current regulations and best practice
* Assist with troubleshooting and resolving on-site issues
* Carry out minor remedial works where required (e.g. adjustments to closers, locks, etc.)
* Accurately record survey findings using digital systems
* Work both independently and as part of a wider project team
* Ensure compliance across all works in line with relevant standards and specifications
Requirements
* Minimum 3+ years’ experience in passive fire (fire doors and fire stopping)
* Strong knowledge of fire door compliance and compartmentation standards
* Background as a fire door installer or fire stopper (preferred)
* Experience carrying out surveys and/or supervising works
* Basic IT skills and ability to use digital reporting tools
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* Experience working under FIRAS / BM TRADA or similar certification schemes
* Experience using digital survey/reporting applications
* SSSTS or SMSTS
* Asbestos Awareness
