An excellent opportunity has arisen for an aspirational and motivated individual to work within the Emergency Department Pharmacy Team. Pharmacy is seen as a key resource in the within our Emergency Department. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic pharmacist work alongside the Lead Emergency Department Pharmacist.
The department has a strong commitment to advancing pharmacy practice and embedding effective medicines management systems into patient care and is now looking to appoint a dynamic individual with good organisational and communication skills who is keen to be involved in the development of the clinical service provided to all patients who attend the Emergency Department. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will provide a comprehensive and high-quality clinical service.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will play an influential role in the patients care pathway whilst building upon proven clinical skills. We aim to give you clinical experience and exposure to develop your generalist and specialist skills, as well as providing leadership, management, education, quality improvement and research opportunities.
You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to promote clinical and cost-effective prescribing through evidence-based guidelines. Alongside the Lead Pharmacist for the Emergency Department, the post holder will develop, audit and monitor Medicines Management processes within the service and provide training and supervision to departmental staff.
In addition to well-developed communication and leadership skills you will have previous experience of working within a clinical environment and will have completed a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork would be advantageous.
Training and support will be provided. A commitment to continuing professional development is essential. It is envisaged that the candidate will possess a prescribing qualification or be prepared to work towards one.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy
* 12 months pre-registration training and experience
* Registered with the GPhC
* Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
* NMP qualification, or willing to work towards (if required)
* Membership of the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association
* Membership of The Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Experience and Knowledge
* Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience within hospital pharmacy.
* Experience in clinical pharmacy with knowledge of the therapeutics of common disease states.
* Understanding of issues affecting the NHS and hospital pharmacy.
* Teaching/training experience.
* Clinical trials regulations.
Skills and Ability
* Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence all members of the healthcare team.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Able to work autonomously or within a team.
