Career progression and a great quality of life? You deserve it.
At Truro Vets for Pets, we believe that you can have it all. From a fulfilling career with supportive colleagues, through to an idyllic hometown in which you can secure the best possible quality of life, everything is possible when you join us.
Our Head Nurse is leaving us, literally for pastures new, which means we now have an exciting opening for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team. As a small animal RCVS accredited training practice offering advanced surgeries, we are at the heart of community life. Many of our clients have been with us for years, trusting us to take the best possible care of their extended family members.
A bit about you:
This fantastic opportunity would suit an experienced RVN looking to take the next step in their career or a skilled Head Nurse looking for a better work/life balance. If you see yourself as a role model and someone that can drive and support a small nursing team whilst improving practice standards and coaching new talent, we think this is the role for you.
Down to the details:
Due to the nature of this role, we’re ideally looking for our new Head Nurse to cover full time hours, with just 1 in 5 Saturdays. The hours can be framed to suit you and either worked over 4 longer days or 5, 8-hour days.
Some of the highlights:
1. Competitive salary of £30k to £33k, reflecting experience
2. Annual leave that increases with years’ service
3. Comprehensive CPD funding with financial support and allocated time for study
4. Opportunity to drive an experienced nursing team.
5. Engage in Schedule 3 surgeries, complex in-patient care, clinical coaching, nurse clinics, and emergency care.
6. Paid memberships including RCVS and BVNA
7. And much more!
If you are not currently local to Cornwall, then we can also support you with a generous relocation package of up of £1,500.
The practice and location:
The practice itself has been newly expanded and refurbished with a new building and equipment that offers a lovely bright and airy environment to work in with all the equipment you’d expect from a solid GP practice, in addition to separate cat and dog wards and two theatres.
Based in an ideal location in Cornwall, we are surrounded by wonderful scenery and some of the best beaches in the country within 15-20 minutes’ drive. Truro has great access to the A30 and the A390 which connects the city to Falmouth, Redruth, Liskeard, and Plymouth.
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
