Sanderson Government & Defence are partnering with a fast-growing Cyber Security and Cloud Solutions provider.We're looking for a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant to support their continued growth across sectors.
In this customer-facing role, you'll act as a trusted technical advisor, working closely with sales, engineering, and service delivery teams to shape secure, scalable cloud and hybrid solutions that meet the needs of a wide variety of clients across sectors. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on cloud or infrastructure experience looking to move into a more strategic, consultative pre-sales position.
The Opportunity
This is not a back-office architect role - your strength lies in your ability to engage with stakeholders, understand their business and technical challenges, and translate those into high-level solution designs and proposals. You’ll play a key role in client meetings and RFP responses, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, commercially viable, and aligned with industry best practices.
Working alongside technical SMEs, product teams, and partner vendors, you’ll help to create tailored solutions across Microsoft, AWS, and hybrid platforms, contributing to a culture of excellence, learning, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with prospective and existing customers to understand business objectives and technical requirements.
* Translate customer requirements into high-level solution designs for cloud, infrastructure, and managed services offerings.
* Collaborate with Sales, Cloud Engineers, and Product Managers to develop competitive proposals and statements of work.
* Create and present customer-facing documents, diagrams, and proposals that clearly communicate the solution.
* Participate in pre-sales meetings, technical workshops, and product demonstrations.
* Contribute to bid and tender responses, including written input and technical validation.
* Work closely with vendor partners to align solutions with best-of-breed technologies.
* Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor offerings, and compliance standards (e.g. ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI-DSS).
What You'll Bring
* Experience in a technical services, pre-sales, or solution design role—ideally within a Managed Services or Cloud Services environment.
* Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS), infrastructure services, and cyber security principles.
* Familiarity with enterprise IT environments including networking, virtualisation, backup, and compliance.
* Confident in customer-facing scenarios, with strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to balance commercial, technical, and delivery perspectives when shaping solutions.
* Experience with technical proposal writing and creating solution documentation (e.g. HLDs).
* Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
