Consultant Paediatrician – Autism & ADHD Assessments
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Consultant Paediatricians who share our core values of commitment, trust, integrity, and kindness to join our growing neurodevelopmental assessment service.
About the Role
You will provide high-quality Autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people aged 3–18 years, delivering thoughtful, evidence-based diagnoses in a supportive and family-centred way.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting comprehensive developmental histories using recognised tools and preferred assessment methods.
* Observing children and young people during assessment sessions, ensuring all interactions are age-appropriate, respectful, and compassionate.
* Reviewing ADOS reports, developmental histories, and relevant collateral information from home and school within the same assessment session.
* Formulating diagnoses in line with DSM-5 criteria, concluding assessments, and delivering clear, sensitive feedback to families, including recommendations and signposting to local and national resources.
* Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) where further information is required, with the option to offer follow-up sessions to finalise diagnoses.
* Producing high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours of assessment (full administrative support is provided for formatting and quality assurance).
* Requesting onward referrals where clinically indicated, in line with local NHS Trust and ICB protocols.
Our Clinics
* Up to four assessments per day between 9am–5pm
* £300 per assessment, paid on a self-employed basis (outside IR35)
* Weekend availability
* Remote clinics delivered via MS Teams
* Face-to-face clinics available in Canterbury and Basingstoke
* Free CPD and training opportunities, including further neurodevelopmental assessments such as ADHD
What We’re Looking For
* GMC-registered doctor with a valid licence to practise
* CCT in Paediatrics preferred, but not essential
* Strong experience and confidence in ASD and/or ADHD assessments for children and young people
* Up-to-date with appraisal and revalidation requirements
* Comfortable working remotely using digital platforms
