We are looking for an Accounts and Payroll Assistant/Administrator to join our small team based in Caerphilly. This is a part-time (15-20 hours a week), site-based, permanent position. The exact hours are negotiable, with all day Tuesday and Thursday preferred and Friday mornings as an option.
Responsibilities
* Payroll Administration: assist the director to run the client payroll portfolio including organizing workload to ensure timely and accurate payroll service to clients.
* Payroll processing: prepare and process weekly, four weekly and monthly payrolls ranging from 1-20 employees using Moneysoft Payroll software.
* HMRC compliance: submission of all HMRC returns during the tax year and at the year end.
* Employee management: add and remove employees and upload pension data to Nest Pension.
* Client support: deal with client payroll queries and liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
* Accounts Administration: process sale and purchase invoices, receipts and payments.
* Bank reconciliations and nominal ledger reviews.
* Bookkeeping: maintain records for Sage Accounts, QuickBooks Online, Xero and Visual Transaction software.
* CRM and filing: maintain BrightManager CRM system and all office and client files and paperwork.
* Client liaison: communicate with clients by email, telephone and in person, including handling paperwork when able to drive.
Requirements
Payroll
* 3+ years’ experience in payroll within an Accountancy Practice.
* Moneysoft Payroll experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
* Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes including UK compliance and statutory requirements.
Accounts
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a varied accounting role.
* Proficiency in at least one of Sage Accounts, QuickBooks Online, Xero or Visual Transaction.
* AAT Level 4 or equivalent.

* High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Strong communication skills including excellent grammar.
* Respect for confidential and sensitive information.
