The Pearson's Arms, a vibrant pub and restaurant located on the Whitstable seafront, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Team Member to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and supporting the team during busy service. Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
* Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety regulations in all kitchen areas
* Support the kitchen team in delivering efficient service during peak times
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, in line with operational guidelines
* Contribute to menu preparation and development, offering creative ideas where possible
* Ensure correct storage, labelling, and rotation of food items to maintain freshness and reduce waste
Requirements
* Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential
* Strong interest in food preparation and cooking techniques
* Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
* Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required
* A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent service
