We are a London-based editorial consultancy specialising in science and technology. We work with universities, technology firms, and media brands like The Economist, Politico, and MIT Technology Review to develop compelling media projects with partners. Our specialist areas are health, sustainability, and artificial intelligence, but we’ve tackled everything from cybersecurity to crypto.
Our projects include in-depth reports, short form articles, data visualisations and podcasts. We also help organisations with media and communications strategy and provide expert advice on crafting editorial initiatives. Our team combines journalism experience from brands like The Economist and the Financial Times. Partners include Microsoft, Databricks and JP Morgan Chase; international organisations like the United Nations, UNICEF, the Omidyar Foundation and the World Bank; and higher education institutions.
We are looking for a Researcher to support our mission to bring the stories of science and technology to life.
The tasks and responsibilities range widely. They include:
* Writing and editing.
* Conducting literature reviews.
* Sifting for data, case studies and evidence to support editorial projects.
* Editing transcripts and organising qualitative research materials.
* Sourcing expert interviewees.
* Project management (e.g., sub-editing, design, consolidating edits and feedback).
* Comms and project management support (e.g., drafting communications, managing feedback and editing from multiple stakeholders, quote-checking with interviewees, fact-checking).
Attributes:
* Relevant university degree
* Relevant work experience, which can include internships
* Proven interest in science and technology, especially artificial intelligence
* Excellent English language writing skills.
* Attention to detail and good organisational skills, including time management
* Curious, creative and conscientious
* Self-starter and critical thinker
* Flexible and able to shift between tasks and projects as needed.
