This is the opportunity to join the patient safety and governance team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Safety Quality System Lead working across all the Trust sites.

The System Lead is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Trust Safety Quality System. The Lead ensures that the Trust’s external incident reporting requirements are met, including in relation to data quality and the effectiveness of processes and also supports a variety of day to day patient safety and governance activities.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

• To maintain and develop the Trust safety quality system that is used to manage quality governance processes including incidents, feedback, risk, policy, inquests and claims.

• To oversee the management of all system requirements and issues (for example user accounts, user queries, report queries etc), this includes the management of the email inbox for staff queries and issues.

• To undertake activities that ensure good data quality on the system such as form design, data quality reports, training and feedback to staff.

• To ensure the system delivers regulatory external reporting requirements, including submissions to the Learn from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE).

• To participate in a variety of ways to monitor quality and compliance within the Trust.

Training and qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Degree of equivalent experience
2. CPD system admin or governance

Desirable criteria

3. Safety quality system training

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria

4. Experience managing or supporting digital safety or governance systems within a healthcare or equivalent setting
5. Experience coordinating incident management processes and supporting learning responses
6. Understanding of statutory regulations such as Duty of Candour and incident reporting protocols

Desirable criteria

7. Knowledge of IT security, data protection, and business continuity planning within the NHS

Skills and ability

Essential criteria

8. Excellent data quality skills, including auditing, validation, and evidence triangulation
9. Strong IT skills in a range of IT systems including Microsoft 365
