We are looking for a Technical Advisor to join the Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS). The MDS manages important environmental monitoring systems and datasets. You will work within a multi-disciplinary, dispersed team, analysing and improving the data that underpins our work.
Responsibilities
* Set up and manage users.
* Support users and resolve issues, especially during the transition to our new My Environment application.
* Update, improve and maintain datasets.
* Respond to internal and external data requests.
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects.
* Participate in incident response duties and undertake required training.
Qualifications
* Experience working with large complex datasets.
* Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills, applying them across monitoring data and systems.
* Motivated, organised, friendly, helpful, with an eye for detail, comfortable working in a dispersed team environment.
* Proactive and enjoys solving problems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
Desirable Skills
* Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems.
* Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online, and R.
* Working knowledge of water quality monitoring.
Work Location
Work location is flexible, but you must have a base at one of our offices across England and be present there. We offer hybrid home/office working, but some travel for meetings is expected.
An apprenticeship is available for the successful candidate.
