Role Purpose
The Baggage Service Agent (BSO Agent) is responsible for assisting passengers with baggage-related services, including delayed, damaged, or lost luggage claims. This role provides exceptional customer service while coordinating baggage tracking, documentation, and resolution efforts in compliance with airline and airport procedures.
What you will be doing
1. Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft safely and efficiently
2. Sort and transport luggage to designated areas within the airport
3. Operate baggage handling equipment, carts, belt loaders, and tugs safely
4. Ensure baggage is properly scanned, tagged, and routed to the correct flights
5. Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
6. Follow airline, airport, and TSA security procedures at all times
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage areas and workspaces
8. Assist with aircraft arrival and departure operations as needed
9. Work collaboratively with ramp agents, supervisors, and airline personnel to meet operational deadlines
10. Respond quickly to changing flight schedules and operational needs
11. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
12. Perform other duties as requested

What we are looking for:
13. High school diploma or GED
14. Must be 18 years of age or older
15. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
16. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn airline baggage systems
17. Ability to work in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment
18. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
19. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
20. Basic communication and teamwork skills
21. Reliable attendance and punctuality
22. Must have reliable telephone and transportation
23. Previous airline experience
24. Previous customer service, hospitality experience
25. Airport terminal and baggage service office environment
26. Fast-paced operational setting with frequent passenger interaction
27. May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting of baggage
28. Ability to lift baggage up to 50 pounds occasionally
29. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
30. Ability to use computers, phones, and office equipment regularly
31. Must be able to take verbally direct in English
32. Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
33. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
34. Must pass a pre-employment background check
35. Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
36. Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials
37. Identification badges must always be visible
38. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
