We are seeking a Manager to lead our Economic Crime Unit (ECU), which is part of the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The successful candidate will lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
Responsibilities
* Lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
* Serve as the strategic lead for financial investigations ensuring compliance with the Process of Crime Act (POCA).
* Manage two Team Leaders, one responsible for our Asset Denial Team and one responsible for our Money Laundering Investigation Team.
* Manage a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Provide leadership, motivation and development of team, managing performance and work delivery.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams such as Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, and Legal as well as external partners such as the Police, National Crime Agency and HMRC.
* Influence at a senior level to ensure the Environment Agency’s priorities are supported and recognised by other enforcement agencies.
* Support the wider organisation in improving processes and increase understanding of POCA legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Exceptional leadership skills and experience leading a dispersed team.
* Good understanding of financial investigations and the Process of Crime Act.
* Experience working in the law enforcement sector and understanding of the National Intelligence Model.
* Communication skills – delivering feedback, managing performance, building relationships with external stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise a varied workload.
* Identify areas for improvement and lead changes to working practices.
* Develop and enhance the capability of a team and its individuals.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid working role, with flexibility from home and work from nearest office. Requirements for travel across the country for meetings and operational duties. Incident response role with availability to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support. Training and workplace adjustments available.
