Working hours: Mondays to Fridays 7:30am to 4pm (40 hours per week)

Main purpose of the role
Little Lionhearts Nursery School is a busy nursery offering full day care for children aged from 3 months to 5 years all year round. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and passionate about providing children with healthy and nutritional food. To be responsible for the management of the nursery kitchen, organising, preparing and delivering nursery meals in accordance with the nursery menus, food policies and individual dietary requirements. To take overall responsibility for the management and cleanliness of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and preparation of food to provide meals in accordance with Little Lionhearts Nursery School's menus and food policies
* Catering for all individual dietary requirements in line with parental guidance and following the child's allergy plan.
* Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety apply to children, colleagues, parents and visitors, maintaining a safe and secure environment
* Ensure hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation
* Maintain necessary kitchen procedures and records in accordance with Little Lionhearts Nursery School and Environmental Health's policies and processes
* To undertake future and refresher training as appropriate
* Responsible for control, storage and rotation of kitchen stock
* Order food in line with Little Lionhearts Nursery School's policies and within the specified budget and authorised by the Nursery Manager
* To contribute to the team effort of the nursery and to attend staff meetings and social events as and when required
* Liaise with the nursery Manager on the ordering of necessary kitchen equipment
* To undertake any other reasonable catering duties as requested by the nursery Manager
Your Qualifications and Experience:
* At least 1-year previous experience working within a catering environment with an excellent understanding of food hygiene standards and allergens
* A good understanding of food standards requirements for the management of medical conditions, in particular, allergies associated with food
* Level 2 or 3 food hygiene certificate (required)
* Subject to an enhanced DBS Check
