We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team atHMP Full Sutton, a Category A high security prison located in Pocklington. HMP Full Sutton has capacity of around 600 men, and houses those serving long term sentences.

Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm.

Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of up to £33,510 dependent on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

* Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
* Manage a caseload of patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
* Work on a 1-1 basis with patients, carrying out assessments
* Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction etc
* Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
* Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices

* Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and preferably within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role
* Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi‑disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
* Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
* Have a non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
