The post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred podiatry services within a GP Practice and support the development of podiatry provision across a newly established Primary Care Network (PCN). The role focuses on assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of foot and lower limb conditions, with particular emphasis on high-risk and long-term condition management (e.g., diabetes, vascular disease, MSK conditions). The post-holder will work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, community teams, and allied health professionals to improve patient outcomes and reduce secondary care referrals.
Job summary
Part‑Time Role – 7.5hrs (1 day per week)
Main duties of the job
* Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions.
* Manage high‑risk patients, including:
o Diabetic foot complications
o Peripheral vascular disease
o Neuropathy
o Wound care and ulcer management
* Deliver nail surgery where appropriately trained.
* Develop individualised care plans in collaboration with patients.
* Identify red flags and escalates appropriately.
* Refer to secondary care or specialist services when clinically indicated.
* Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using electronic patient systems.
* Promote self‑care, prevention, and patient education.
PCN Development Role
* Assist in establishing and shaping podiatry services across the new PCN.
* Support the development of referral pathways within primary care.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
* Provide advice and education to GP Practice staff regarding foot health management.
* Support service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Help reduce avoidable hospital admissions and secondary care referrals.
Multidisciplinary Working
* Work closely with:
o GPs
o Practice nurses
o Diabetes teams
o Community services
o District nurses
o MSK teams
* Participate in PCN clinical meetings as required.
* Liaise with secondary care podiatry and vascular teams where appropriate.

* Adhere to HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
* Engage in continuing professional development (CPD).
* Participate in clinical supervision and appraisal.
* Contribute to audits, incident reporting, and service development.
* Comply with safeguarding, infection control, and information governance policies.

Pimlico is an NHS GP Practice. Our doctors have been serving the community of Pimlico and Westminster for many years. We provide a range of dedicated services within our practice including diabetes, paediatric clinic, chronic disease management and home visiting service. We are part of the newly established Westminster Living Well PCN in which this position will play an integral part.

* Current HCPC registration.
