We are seeking a Fire and Building Safety Lead to provide specialist knowledge ensuring the statutory and regulatory compliance of the Council’s domestic assets. This role focuses on Fire & Building Safety management, ensuring the Council meets all legislative and regulatory requirements and supports the team with other specialist technical functions.

Key Responsibilities
• Compliance Expertise: Ensure the statutory and regulatory compliance of the Council’s domestic assets.
• Duty of Care: Ensure the Council consistently fulfils its duty of care towards tenants and other customers.
• Contractor Management: Appoint and manage specialist contractors and in-house technicians. • Fire & Building Safety: Take specific responsibility for fire & building safety management and support the team with specialist functions.
• Safety Culture: Embed a dynamic, customer-centric, and effective compliance and safety culture within the Directorate.
• Contract Management: Ensure contracts are procured and managed in accordance with Council procedures.
• Liaison: Effectively liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and represent the organisation at meetings.
• Budget Management: Monitor and manage budgets related to compliance functions.
• Innovation: Develop procedures and operational plans to meet customer needs and expectations while ensuring compliance.
• Governance: Contribute to the implementation of a comprehensive governance and performance monitoring framework.
• Information Management: Ensure compliance information and databases are accurate and up-to-date.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice on regulatory requirements.
• Performance Monitoring: Regularly review contractor performance in terms of compliance, customer service, health and safety, quality, productivity, and value for money.
• Market Awareness: Stay updated with market developments and advise on new technologies.

You are adept at overseeing day-to-day high standard of service delivery, ensuring efficiency, compliance, safety and engagement of residents. You are skilled in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including residents, elected members, and partners.
