Vision for Education are recruiting a Pastoral Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH school in Coventry. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates from care, youth work, sports coaching, or mental health backgrounds who are confident supporting challenging behaviour and want to make a genuine impact in a school setting.

About the Role
As a Pastoral Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting students to regulate behaviour, build trust and re-engage with education.
You will:
• Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
• Help students manage emotions and develop coping strategies
• Promote structure, routine and positive choices
• Support both in and out of the classroom
• Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
This is a hands-on, relationship-driven role where no two days are the same.

• Experience supporting young people or adults with behaviour/SEMH needs
• Confident, calm and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to stay consistent and patient in challenging situations
• A proactive, “get stuck in” attitude
✔️ School experience is not essential – the right attitude and background are key

Requirements
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Full-time availability (Monday–Friday)
• Long-term commitment preferred
