We’re looking for a Financial Modelling Analyst to join us.
As a Financial Modelling Analyst, you’ll provide the technical modelling expertise that underpins our long‑range financial planning and scenario analysis. You’ll design, develop and govern robust financial models that support strategic decision‑making and assess financial resilience under different scenarios.
As a subject matter expert, you’ll translate strategic questions into clear, scalable modelling solutions, ensuring consistency, transparency, and integrity of assumptions and outputs. Working closely with Finance, Strategy, Data and Systems teams, you’ll support the effective use of planning and budgeting tools and contribute trusted technical insight to inform Executive‑level decisions.
Salary: £36,621 - £40,716
What it's like to work here
Reporting into the Head of Financial Planning, you’ll join the Financial Planning & Insight function, a central team responsible for providing forward‑looking financial insight, long‑range planning, and decision support across our organisation.
You’ll work closely with the Financial Planning Lead and wider FP&I leadership, as well as partnering extensively with Finance Business Partners, the Finance Data and Systems teams, strategy colleagues, operational finance teams, data analysts, and senior leaders across the organisation.
Your contractual location will be either our head office in Swindon or our Financial Service Centre in Trowbridge and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at the office for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
You’ll lead the design, development and governance of robust financial models that underpin our forward-looking strategic financial planning activities.
This role enables strategic decision-making by providing flexible modelling frameworks for multi-year planning, scenario testing, and financial sustainability analysis.
As a senior technical expert within the Financial Planning team, you'll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing scenario-based insights that directly inform long term financial strategy, investment decisions and resource allocation.
Who we're looking for
You'll bring;
* Strong understanding of how financial modelling drives good decision making in organisations
* Strong understanding of data modelling best practices and financial planning processes
* Advanced Excel skills, including dynamic formulas, scenario tools, and model structuring
* Proficiency with modelling platforms (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Collaborative Planning or custom-built models)
* Proven experience in complex financial modelling
* Experience supporting long-term financial planning or scenario modelling in a large organisation
