GSL Education are seeking an outstanding and motivated Deputy Head Teacher to join a school in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader or an Assistant Head looking to progress into a Deputy Head position.
As a Deputy Head Teacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher to drive high standards of teaching and learning, promote a positive school culture, and ensure the best outcomes for all students.
Deputy Head Teacher Responsibilities:
* Support the Headteacher in the leadership and management of the school
* Lead on teaching and learning to ensure high-quality education across all key stages
* Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing support and guidance
* Contribute to whole-school development planning and improvement strategies
* Promote high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and student wellbeing
* Oversee curriculum development and ensure it meets student needs
* Lead and manage staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment
* Build strong relationships with parents, governors, and external stakeholders
Requirements of a Deputy Head Teacher:
* Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience in a leadership role (Assistant Head or similar)
* Proven experience in managing behaviour and improving student attitudes
* Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
* A clear vision for school improvement and student achievement
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
