Job Title: Warehouse Shift Manager (NIGHTS)
Location: Waltham Abbey
Reports to: Operations Manager / Site Manager
Job Type: Full-time, Sunday to Thursday 20:30 – 06:00, 42.5 hrs per week (1 hour Lunch)
Salary: £38,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

Job Responsibilities
* To ensure that all warehouse operations are performed on time and within budget. Lead the team to complete full and timely pick, pack and despatch functions in line with company KPIs.
* Allocate heads to tasks to meet the operation's needs; manage safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of goods; stock management; and Health & Safety compliance within company guidelines.
* Lead daily line management of the Warehouse team and supervise picking, packing, loading and despatching of vehicles.
* Develop and monitor KPIs to exceed targets and drive ownership within the team.
* Ensure appropriate daily operational provision for the Warehouse team, including managing leave requests and sickness absence.
* Conduct Daily Briefs to staff to communicate daily and future tasks; provide weekly KPI reports to Warehouse Manager on staff performance, health & safety, and projects.
* Flexibility to change shifts at short notice to facilitate holidays/sickness cover; adapt to various operational needs.
* Maintain high workplace standards including internal/external cleaning and rotation of stock.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* A hands-on approach with keen attention to detail and high standards for quality and performance
* Good knowledge of health & safety practices and the ability to enforce them consistently
* Experience managing KPIs, shift planning, and incident reporting
* The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Flexibility and reliability, with a strong work ethic and commitment to operational excellence
Experience And Education
* Good competency in Excel, Word and WMS systems
* Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
* Holding a current forklift licence is desirable (counter balance/flexi, bendi)
* Minimum of 5 years experience working in a high service level warehouse
* Experienced people manager with proven performance management and development of a team
* Proven success in improving warehouse systems and processes
* Experience working in a high-pressure environment handling a high number of orders
* Proven high customer service focus
