Location: Coleford Hours: Full-time, Mon- Thurs 07:45 - 16:00, Fri: 07:45 - 15:15 Department: Engineering/Workshop About the Role Join a dynamic workshop team dedicated to machining high-quality new and refurbished pump components. You'll interpret engineering drawings, expertly manufacture from specifications, and apply reverse engineering techniques on worn parts. If you're a skilled machinist who thrives in a team environment and values precision, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities: Operate manual centre lathes for shafts, sleeves, spacers, and similar components Machine cast parts-such as impellers, housings, and casings-to drawing specifications Work with CNC lathe (SWED 12), vertical borers, milling machines, and slotters Balance and machine impellers as needed Replace case wear rings and bushes accurately to design tolerances Uphold professional standards and represent brand values at all times Monitor health and safety compliance and follow company policies Maintain a clean, well-organised workshop Assist with onsite fitting and liaise effectively across workshop teams Ideal Candidate You'll be an experienced, time-served machine shop engineer with: A craft apprenticeship or equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 3) Strong skills in reading engineering drawings and using measuring instruments Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and methodical work approach Service-focused mindset and experience with rotating equipment Self-motivation, flexibility, and capability to work independently or as part of a team Practical adaptability, organisational strength, and the ability to handle last-minute changes calmly Valid UK driving licence for occasional site visits What's on Offer A highly skilled team culture with an emphasis on quality, safety, and collaboration A role with direct impact-refine core engineering assets in a supportive environment Opportunity to expand your technical expertise and work with diverse machining technologies Overtime opportunities On-site Parking Private medical Apply Now If you're ready to contribute your machining expertise in a role that values precision, teamwork, and technical excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
