Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake duties including:
* Surgery consultations and emergencies
* Home visits
* Compiling and issuing prescriptions using electronic prescribing services
* Prescribing in line with national guidelines
* Preparing medical reports and examinations
* Managing referral letters (NHS and private)
* Handling paperwork and correspondence promptly
* Dealing with hospital correspondence
* Checking and managing pathology and test results
* Assessing healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
* Developing care plans in consultation with patients, aligned with current protocols
* Providing counselling and health education
* Admitting or discharging patients and referring as appropriate
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes
* Undertaking all normal duties of a GP in primary care
* Completing care plans for local enhanced services

Kingswood Surgery is a long-established, friendly practice located in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, near the East Sussex border. Supported by a team including 4 partners, 6 salaried GPs, a Paramedic Practitioner, nursing team, and administrative staff, serving approximately 11,300 patients with a GOOD CQC rating. We utilize EMIS Web and Anima for a wide range of services.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration
* Registered on the NHS performers list
* Evidence of professional indemnity cover
* Postgraduate qualifications relevant to primary care
Experience
* Experience in general practice or primary care
* Ability to manage a range of clinical presentations
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
* Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care
* Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
* IT proficiency, including EMIS and Microsoft Office
* Experience in Women's Health
* Experience in teaching or supervision
* Experience in quality improvement activities
* Understanding of local health system structures
