Role overview
We're looking for an experienced Head of Compliance to lead our insurance-focused Compliance team, reporting directly to the CRO for DUAL UK.
This is a new role, arising from the recent growth within the DUAL Risk & Compliance team, reflecting the continued growth of DUAL's business. The role will have significant opportunity to shape the direction which the compliance team will take, and to make a meaningful contribution to DUAL's organisational transformation programme and future strategy.
The role involves a detailed understanding of the FCA Handbook and its practical applicability to a range of business lines. At DUAL we work collaboratively to ensure we deliver good outcomes for customers and for our business and an ability to think commercially will be essential.
The role will work alongside the various DUAL operational business units, as well as with its more centralised control functions such as Risk. There will be engagement with core DUAL Group and Howden Group central functions such as IT, Legal, HR and Procurement, and the role will also require close engagement with other teams and SME's within in the wider DUAL Group and Howden Group businesses.
Role responsibilities
* Leadership of a growing team based across multiple locations in the UK
* Ownership of the Conduct Risk Framework for DUAL UK, including the running of the Conduct Risk Committee, ownership of conduct-related policies, compliance reporting and the oversight of the delivery of good customer outcomes.
* Responsible for horizon scanning and the assessment of the impact of emerging regulatory requirements on DUAL.
* Responsible for leading regulatory change projects
* Responsible for supporting the team in their provision of compliance advice to DUAL.
* Provide timely and considered advice and guidance on a range of insurance topics, covering Lloyds, London markets and retail insurance.
* Key contributor to Board and Risk Committees.
* Support the CRO in responding strategically to emerging compliance and customer impacting initiatives.
Key requirements
* Eight years' experience working in insurance compliance, preferably both retail and commercial insurance
* Expert technical knowledge
* Excellent relationship management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Team leadership
* Experience of regulatory liaison
* A willingness to adapt as the Risk & Compliance function develops further.
