We are seeking a Compliance and Governance Officer to join our team at Bourne Education Trust.
You will be responsible for acting as a governance professional and compliance adviser, supporting governors, school leaders and Trust colleagues through advice, coordination, monitoring and implementation activity.

Position: Compliance and Governance Officer
Location: Based at Bourne Education Trust's central office located in Jubilee High School, Addlestone however, frequent travel to schools across all regions will be required
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the first point of contact for compliance and governance matters for schools within allocated clusters
* Provide day-to-day advice and guidance to headteachers, school business leaders and governors on compliance matters, escalating complex, high-risk or novel issues to the Head of Compliance
* Support schools to comply with Trust policies, statutory requirements and regulatory expectations, including those set out in the Academy Trust Handbook
Requirements include:
Essential
* An awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
* Educated to degree level and / or able to demonstrate relevant experience in a compliance, governance, legal or regulatory role
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders including school leaders and governors
* Ability to apply policies, procedures and regulatory requirements accurately and consistently in practice
Desirable
* Experience of supporting governance processes or compliance activity within an academy trust, education setting or similarly regulated environment
