Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements:
* We are seeking a Software Engineering Lead with a proven track record in successfully delivering change to national critical infrastructure systems. You should have experience leading teams through the complete delivery life cycle, from bid through to operational delivery. A strong background in systems engineering, software development, integration, and testing—using Waterfall and V model development—is essential. You will need experience with development environments related to 1GL through 3GL generation languages, alongside strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear technical direction. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with team members and internal/external stakeholders. Additionally, strong time management and organizational skills are required.
Responsibilities:
* As the Software Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for managing a multi-functional team that delivers a complex program of transformation and functional changes. Your duties will include planning and delivering against agreed software targets, managing day-to-day activities across a multi-disciplined team, ensuring adherence to engineering processes and software assurance standards, and contributing to software architecture, design, and recommendations. You will manage change and release processes, oversee technical risk and opportunity management, and liaise with other disciplines such as systems engineering and formal test. Regular reporting and participation in Critical Thread Review meetings will also be part of your responsibilities.
