🌟 Residential Youth Support Worker – A Career Built on Compassion

Location: Nottingham

Salary: Up to £28,650.00 per annum + £44.56 per sleep-in

Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts including earlies, lates, doubles, and sleep-ins

🛠️ What the Role Involves

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be a vital part of a team supporting young people who have experienced trauma. Your role will be dynamic, challenging, and deeply rewarding. You’ll be responsible for:

1. Supporting daily routines, activities, and emotional well-being
2. Managing and de-escalating challenging situations with empathy
3. Encouraging independence, education, and life skills
4. Being a trusted role model—showing patience, resilience, and compassion
5. Creating a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment

🏡 About Swan House

Swan House is a warm and welcoming 3-bedded residential home located in a peaceful area of Mapperley Plains, Nottingham. Nestled near Gedling Country Park, the home benefits from access to green spaces, local shops, and a charming nearby high street—making it an ideal setting for both staff and young people.

Currently, Swan House is home to two young female residents, each with vibrant personalities and a wide range of interests. The home has a lively and nurturing atmosphere, with a strong focus on building positive relationships and routines.

Our young people enjoy:

🦁 Visiting the zoo and attending the circus

💅 Getting their nails done and going on day trips

🎨 Arts and crafts

⚽ Sport and active hobbies

👀 What We’re Looking For

6. A strong, compassionate personality
7. Emotional resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
8. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
9. Problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
10. Life experience from previous careers or personal challenges
11. A desire to grow - full training and a funded Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare provided

12. 3 weeks of paid induction training
13. Funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

15. £1,400 annual attendance bonus + sleep-in payments (£44.56 per shift)

📌 Important Information

21. We do not offer sponsorship or support with right to work.
22. All applicants must have their own right to work in the UK, permitting them to work 40 hours per week.
23. All successful candidates will undergo pre-employment safer recruitment checks in line with Ofsted and Homes2Inspire policies.
