Overview
Domestic Assistant Disability Lancaster & Morecambe District Day Services Morecambe Part time
Salary: £24,796 - £25,185 per annum (full-time equivalent) pro rata for part-time 15 hours per week. This role is not open to international sponsorship.
Responsibilities
* Kitchen domestic duties including heating and serving ready-made hot meals and general cleaning of the kitchen area.
* Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
* Set up and clear service and dining areas.
* Use equipment and machinery including ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, water heaters, and washing machines.
* Reheat and serve pre-prepared meals, ensuring correct temperatures are reached; monitor and record temperatures of food, fridges, and microwaves.
* Undertake basic laundry duties and monitor stock control; communicate needs to management.
* Prepare drinks as needed for relevant people; safe food handling; moving and handling of objects.
* Refresh toilet and washing areas; operate dishwasher and refill dispensers; ensure bathrooms are fully equipped.
* Health and safety responsibilities including COSHH awareness, recording and monitoring under Health and Safety legislation and guidance, storage of deliveries.
Qualifications and Desirable Experience
* Desirable: experience in a kitchen environment; experience of domestic and cleaning duties.
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative; good communication skills.
* Awareness of Health and Safety requirements and Food Hygiene; basic knowledge of safe use of cleaning materials and equipment.
* Willingness to undertake training as required.
* Rehabilitation: The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Act 1975; successful applicants will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a disclosure.
Employment Details
* Part-time position; salary noted is full-time equivalent; pay on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.
* Working hours approximately Mon - Fri 11:30 am – 2:30 pm.
* Annual leave: 26 days per year (pro rata) increases to 32 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays.
* Additional benefits available as part of Lancashire County Council employment.
