Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It\'s the sense of purpose that drives us every day.
The role
Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and take their first steps toward employment or further education? This is a great opportunity to make a real difference as an Employment Facilitator, supporting young people to unlock their potential. Our Employability Service supports 16–24 year olds who face challenges in making positive choices for their future.
In this role, you’ll deliver personalised employability programmes and one-to-one support, helping young people build confidence, develop essential skills, and move toward meaningful opportunities—whether that\'s a job, training, or further study. You\'ll also provide aftercare to ensure they stay on track and feel supported every step of the way.
You\'ll provide warm, high-quality support to young people preparing to enter the labour market, helping them explore options and feel ready to take the leap. By collaborating with partners and reviewing each person\'s needs, you\'ll help create inspiring, outcome-focused action plans that lead to real progress.
Key responsibilities
* Applying Action for Children\'s and professional practice standards and ensuring their implementation; proactively applying them as needed.
* Managing and co-ordinating a caseload of young people, delivering targeted interventions to assist entry to the labour market through group, coordinated or individual support.
* Delivering a range of group work modules that contribute to overall employability programmes, promoting inclusion and accommodating different learning styles.
* Ensuring all compliance is up to date and accurate to meet the needs of stakeholders and the organisation.
About you
We are open to a variety of backgrounds. This could be your first role after gaining a recent qualification, or you could be building on experience in youth work or employability. This is a great opportunity to enhance life chances in local Glasgow communities.
* SVQ 3 in Social Care, Guidance or equivalent is desirable, but relevant experience is welcome.
* Experience working in group settings with young people facing multiple barriers.
* Knowledge and understanding of young people facing unemployment.
