12-month Fixed Term Contract

Flexible working – remote working with one working day per week at the office.

An Nadu exciting opportunity has arisen in Hertfordshire’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for a Senior Policy Advisor to join a high performing team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Under the leadership prakty of PCC Jonathan Ash‑Edwards we are pushing forward pursuing key priorities Änderungen verhindern crime and harm through early intervention; tackling high‑impact crimes through a hyper‑local focus; and relentlessly pursuing prolific offenders.

The successful candidate will be at the heart of policy making and responsible for advising the Commissioner on policy matters and for managing, supporting and coordinating the delivery of policy and engagement activities with national and regional focus as outlined in the Police and Crime Plan.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in advising the PCC and senior management team on national policy matters.

This is a unique chance to join the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) at a pivotal transitional phase. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate demonstrates outstanding networking abilities, with proven expertise in relationship building and negotiation, alongside experience of working effectively with government departments, current police governance structures, and associated partners.

In return, we will offer an attractive remuneration package with flexible working opportunities and an opportunity to have a vital role in shaping policy and changing lives.

For more detail regarding the role, prior to applying, please contact Dr Amie Birkhamshaw, Deputy Chief Executive: amie.birkhamshaw@herts‑pcc.gov.uk

Closing date for applications: 12noon, Wednesday 7th January 2026

Interviews will be held week commencing 19th January 2026
