Job Summary
We are looking for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team in St Helens. The role involves specialist clinical interventions to support individuals affected by drugs and alcohol.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake physical and mental health assessments for service users.
* Appropriate sign‑posting and referral to primary or secondary health care services for identified health issues.
* Provide education, health promotion and screening for blood borne viruses (BBV).
* Administer Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated.
* Contribute to Change Grow Live’s Naloxone Strategy.
* Ensure procedures are regularly reviewed to promote best practice in accordance with UK clinical guidelines and NICE guidance.
* Provide harm‑reduction advice to injecting service users, supply information and equipment, and ensure safe disposal of used equipment.
* Record and input client data and information.

* Regular national nurse and HCA forums with 11s and appraisals.
* Support for revalidation with protected continuing professional development time (up to 6 days per year).

Contract details
Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Permanent contract.
