Job Description: As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in a primary school in the UK, you will provide essential support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive. Your role involves tailoring educational activities to meet individual needs and supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
* Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Help with classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
* Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs and abilities of each pupil.
* Monitor and record pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom.
* Assist with personal care tasks and mobility support if required.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to support pupil development.
* Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils by following safeguarding policies and procedures.
