Job Title: Electronics Repair Engineer
Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 (DOE) + Bonus + Private Medical Insurance
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Repair Engineer to join our laboratory instrument service and support team. This hands-on, workshop-based role involves refurbishing, testing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of laboratory equipment to high standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Refurbish, configure, and thoroughly test laboratory instruments
* Diagnose faults and perform repairs at component and sub-assembly levels
* Calibrate instruments to exacting specifications using precision equipment
* Work accurately from technical drawings, manuals, and standard operating procedures
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment
* Prepare instruments for online sales and customer delivery
What We're Looking For
* Solid knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
* Proficiency in using calibration and diagnostic equipment
* Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical documentation
* Logical, methodical problem-solving approach
* Good IT skills and meticulous record-keeping
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Education & Experience
* ONC/HNC, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field
* Experience in servicing, repairing, or calibrating laboratory or medical equipment is advantageous but not essential
