Looking to kick-start a career in tech, operations, or cyber/crypto? This is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity to join a critical global operations team within a financial services firm, working with secure systems in a data centre environment.
The Role
You’ll be based in secure data centre rooms supporting day-to-day operations, learning how critical systems are managed and protected. No prior experience needed — just curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
What you’ll do:

Maintain and update system inventories (data entry into databases)
*
Create and manage service desk tickets
*
Support secure key custodian activities (key generation for global systems)
*
Work with global teams across the US, Mexico, and Hong Kong
*
Assist with lifecycle management of secure hardware (delivery, install, monitoring, replacements)

Location: Barnsley Data Centre (J36, 1 mile from M1)
Occasional support at Wakefield if interested
Contract location listed as Sheffield

Working pattern: 3 days per week (Mon/Wed/Fri – flexible)

Hours: 9am–5pm (no out-of-hours work)
*
Duration: 2 years (strong likelihood of going permanent)
*
Rate: £150–£200 per day
*
Team: Supportive UK-based team focused on upskilling junior talent
