Role Responsibility An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Family Group Conference Coordinator for South East Kent. The successful candidate would be part of a robust and experienced team who facilitate Family Group Decision Making for families who's children are involved with Children's Services. Whilst the team covers the whole of South East Kent the office base is in Brook House, Whitstable. The role is a mixture of hands on practice and management of 5 team members. There are also opportunities to run training sessions and practice forums. The role is diverse and creative, in terms of running family led meetings for each unique family. Applicants need to have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant field such as Social Work, teaching, mediation, youth work etc. and have varied experience of working with children and families at times of distress and conflict. Experience of convening FGCs in a variety of settings and preferable Lifelong Links work too. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
