Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a Senior Authorised Person (33Kv authorisation) to join the EPC Contractor on the new build OCGT plant based in North Lincolnshire. The day rate for the SAP position is from £500.00 to £600.00 per day outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role: Act as the SAP for 33kV systems under company and DNO/IDNO authorisation. Carry out switching operations, issue safety documents (PTW, SFT, LOA), and ensure all HV works are executed safely. Supervise and coordinate HV commissioning activities, including protection testing, cable terminations, and system energisation. Ensure all work is carried out in line with statutory regulations, industry standards, and internal HSEQ policies. Maintain up-to-date HV records, test results, and safety documentation. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and site operatives. Lead fault-finding and diagnostics where required Current and valid SAP authorisation up to 21kV (from a DNO, IDNO, or reputable private network). Demonstrable experience managing high-voltage works on large-scale infrastructure or industrial process plants. In-depth understanding of electrical safety rules, switching schedules, and permit systems. Competent in HV protection schemes, cable systems, and commissioning protocols. Ideally have worked for the EPC Contractor within the Power Industry Writing permits alongside the Lead SAP Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering).
