Role Description
The Junior Sous Chef will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring the culinary standards of the hotel are maintained. Responsibilities include supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen activities, supervising junior kitchen staff, managing food preparation and storage, and upholding hygiene and safety regulations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Uckfield, East Sussex, where you will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in food preparation techniques, menu planning, and presenting dishes creatively
* Experience in managing and training kitchen teams, as well as delegating tasks effectively
* Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen cleanliness practices
* Ability to work under pressure, manage time efficiently, and meet high-quality standards
* Prior experience in a similar role within a hotel or fine dining establishment is advantageous
* Relevant culinary qualifications or training in professional cookery
