Vacancy – Head of Quality – Education Programmes for Young People
Full time 35.5 hours per week
Salary £44,050 – £48,126 with Payment into Teacher’s Pension (TPS)
This role is across both college sites Doncaster and North Lindsey
We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Head of Quality – Education Programmes for Young People to play a key role in driving excellence across our 16–18 and High Needs provision. This senior quality role sits within the Quality and Teaching, Learning & Assessment team and works across the Group to ensure consistently high standards, strong outcomes and an exceptional learner experience.
You will lead and shape the quality assurance and improvement cycle for education programmes for young people, working closely with curriculum leaders, the Director of Quality Assurance and senior colleagues to support readiness for Ofsted inspection and deliver sustained improvement. With a strong focus on learner journey, teaching quality and accountability, this is an opportunity to make a real impact at scale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the cross‑college quality assurance and improvement of Education Programmes for Young People, including High Needs provision.
2. Drive continuous quality improvement through robust self‑assessment, quality reviews and the delivery of the Quality Improvement Plan.
3. Coordinate and oversee the Curriculum Accountability Framework (CAF) for young people’s provision, ensuring effective challenge, intervention and impact.
4. Work closely with curriculum teams to improve teaching, learning and assessment, including English, maths, work experience, enrichment and additionality.
5. Ensure internal and external quality assurance processes meet awarding organisation, Ofqual and regulatory requirements.
6. Analyse and respond to learner and stakeholder feedback, supporting meaningful engagement and continuous enhancement of the learner experience.
7. Line manage and support quality staff, ensuring a risk‑based and impactful approach to quality improvement.
8. Contribute to staff development and CPD activity to promote outstanding practice across the organisation.
Essential Criteria
9. Relevant degree (or working towards) and a recognised quality assurance qualification.
10. Current knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and quality assurance within further education.
11. Proven experience of leading or contributing to quality improvement activities, including lesson visits, deep dives or self‑assessment.
12. Experience of working with awarding organisations to ensure compliance and improve provision.
13. Strong communication, data analysis and organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines across multiple priorities.
