Transport Planner – PM Shift

I am currently working with a well established, growing business specifically recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team on a permanent basis, working a PM shift at their Canterbury location.
This role plays a pivotal part in the transport department and is ideal for someone with a strong background in transport planning who is confident managing HGV operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and scheduling HGV routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery operations
Managing daily and evening transport plans, adapting to changes and last-minute issues
Liaising with drivers and customers to ensure service levels are met
Ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours, WTD, and transport legislation
Monitoring performance and resolving operational issues during the PM shift
Key requirements:
Previous experience in a transport planning role is essential
Proven experience planning for HGV fleets
Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and make decisions during evening operations
Good communication skills and confidence dealing with drivers and internal teams
