At Risk Mental State (ARMS) Peer Support Worker


Band 4


22.5 hours per week


Permanent Contract

UK driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role


Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this role is to support service users to establish greater control over their lives, helping to identify aspects of life that give meaning, hope, value and purpose whilst recognizing that each individual’s recovery is a distinctive and deeply personal process.

As an integral and valued member of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team working in Essex, you will provide support to individuals within the service by role modelling and using your lived experience to support service users and guide the service in being more person centered.

Person specification


Education/Qualifications

* Level of educational attainment to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Completion of own Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) or whole life plan
* Willingness to undertake further training in line with the development of peer support
* Related Health or Social care qualification


Experience

* Previous experience of working in a Peer Support Worker role.
* Lived Experience of mental health challenges, recovery and wellness planning.

Please note - staff who are formally at risk within the organisation will be given priority in securing alternative employment. Should it come to light that a post being advertised by the Trust is considered ‘suitable alternative employment’ to an individual who is at risk, the recruiting manager will be advised and the post will be withdrawn from NHS Jobs.
