Are you a qualified Nurse, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist seeking a genuine work-life balance and a chance to thrive in a brand new healthcare environment, whilst both utilising and developing your clinical skills?
As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals to live as much of an independent life as possible. You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, and you may conduct some assessments remotely.
An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, so you will feel equipped for your new role. This role counts towards your clinical hours, helping you maintain and uphold your registration.
Location: Barnstaple • Salary: £39,500 pa • Permanent - full time or part time available (Mon-Fri) • Hybrid work pattern (remote and assessment centre)

Responsibilities
* Use your clinical experience to understand how a person’s health condition affects their daily living and independence
* Work in an office, at home, or across settings to complete detailed, meaningful assessments via telephone, video, or face-to-face
* Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support decision-making by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
Requirements
* Applications are welcome from Qualified Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paramedics or Occupational Therapists for this vacancy
* NMC/HCPC registration is required
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and strong IT competency
