THE ROLE
Indirect Tax Assistant Manager - UK
Purpose of the role/key responsibilities:
1. Manage the indirect taxpliance function across the offices; managing and allocating work to junior members of the team as necessary
2. Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the indirect taxpliance processes
3. Manage and support the team in all aspects of client work, liaising with the client engagement team ensuring all client deadlines and demands are met
4. Take ownership of client portfolio, developing relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with services provided and identifying opportunities to support clients
5. Take ownership and responsibility for delivery of client work from start to finish, in relation to any indirect support required
6. Manage all indirect tax correspondence related to clients and ensure client queries are dealt with in a timely basis, with minimal guidance
7. Undertake review of indirect taxpliance work, highlighting areas where additional support required
8. Take responsibility for advisory and project work to a high technical standard, writing in a clear concise manner, providing rmendations where applicable, with minimal guidance
9. Maintain and develop technical knowledge, undertaking research of new legislation, identifying opportunities for clients and advising accordingly
10. Coach junior members of the team and develop their technical knowledge, delegating and reviewing pieces of work as required
11. Support the leadership team with the day-to-day operations, ensuring financial, utilisation targets and deadlines are met
12. Develop an understanding of the wider services of the firm, identifying opportunities for further work and prepare proposal documents for final review
13. Support the indirect tax business development projects, participating in client events and delivering technical training if required
Experience and skill set required for the role:
14. Experience working in a similar role
15. Experience of technicalpliance and advisory work
16. Strong technical skills and keen to develop further
17. Ability to build strong client relationships
18. Experience in leading teams and coordinating delivery of services
