Job Purpose
To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the Company Health and Safety policy.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Represent the company professionally at all times and develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
2. Complete the PPM schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all paperwork is accurate and follows procedures.
3. Prioritize maintenance and repair work to meet response times.
4. Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Facilities Manager with recommendations for replacement.
5. Inform the Facilities Manager of repair issues affecting store operations.
6. Manage subcontractors' attendance as required, following company procedures.
7. Conduct surveys and prepare reports as requested by the Facilities Manager.
8. Perform minor alterations and installations within technical competence and current specifications.
9. Maintain accurate timesheets and mileage logs.
10. Attend training to keep skills up-to-date with technical developments.
11. Adhere to the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
12. Follow instructions from the Line Manager.
13. Keep company vehicle clean, well maintained, and serviced as needed.
The candidate should possess the following minimum requirements:
Essential:
* City & Guilds 2330 or equivalent in Installing and Electrical Systems & Equipment
* ECS Skill card - Electrician grade
* At least 2 years of relevant experience
* Full UK driving license
Desirable:
* City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)
* BS7671 2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (17th or 18th edition)
* IOSH Working Safely
* Experience working in an industrial electrical environment
