Due to retirement from one of our Lead Specialist Educational Psychologist posts, this exciting opportunity has become available to support the continued development of Lancashire Educational Psychology Service. There have been a number of exciting developments over the last few years, which have included: the implementation of an approach to service delivery based on consultation and early intervention the development and delivery of training programmes for the wider workforce the development of a traded offer to the Virtual School action research/project work to reflect the priorities of the local authority improved links with universities significant investment in training for educational psychologists. This post presents an opportunity for the successful candidate to become part of a team that aspires to create a leading- edge service that provides the interface between research and practice and which strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children and young people of Lancashire. The Lead Specialist Educational Psychologist will support the Senior Educational Psychologist in the area in which they are based. The post holder will also have responsibility for overseeing the development and management of assistant and/or trainee educational psychologists across the county and for providing supervision to assistant and/or trainee educational psychologists. In addition to the leadership and management of the specific teams identified above, the post holder will have responsibility for leading and coordinating action research/projects across the county that reflect the needs and priorities of the educational psychology teams, the Inclusion Service and the local area over time. The post holder will be part of the wider leadership team that supports the Educational Psychology Service's Senior Management Team. We expect to provide, and will actively encourage, successful candidates to take up opportunities for the training and development they need to prosper within their new roles.
